Paddy Whiskey Jug

Paddy, Old Irish Whisky, Arklow, Circa 1970s

The Paddy whiskey jug on display here is a rarer version compared to the one listed here. There are two main differences: firstly, the text on the front of the jug, which reads ‘Cork Distilleries Co.’, distinct from the commonly found version which reads ‘Cork Distilleries Co..Ltd.’. The other difference is the Arklow stamp on the base of the jug, indicating it was made in the 1970s.

The jug features the iconic Paddy Whiskey logo on both sides. The logo is a map of Ireland with colours representing the four provinces of Ireland. Green for Ulster, yellow for Leinster, purple for Munster, and red for Connaught.

Paddy is a brand of blended Irish whiskey made at the Midleton distillery in County Cork, Ireland. It’s made for Sazerac which is a privately held American company. Irish Distillers owned the brand until Sazerac acquired it in 2016. Paddy is the fourth-largest selling Irish whiskey globally.
