The Paddy Old Irish Whisky Jug featured here is made by Arklow Pottery. This jug is liked by collectors, but it’s one of two versions available.
This one is common. You can view the rarer and more valuable version here.
It features the iconic Paddy Whiskey logo on both sides. The logo is a map of Ireland with colours representing the four provinces of Ireland. Green for Ulster, yellow for Leinster, purple for Munster, and red for Connaught.
While ‘Paddy’ is renowned as an Irish whiskey, the term ‘Whisky’ on this jug is spelled the same as it is for Scotch Whisky.
Paddy is a brand of blended Irish whiskey made at the Midleton distillery in County Cork, Ireland. It’s made for Sazerac which is a privately held American company. Irish Distillers owned the brand until Sazerac acquired it in 2016. Paddy is the fourth-largest selling Irish whiskey globally.
