Here’s another Millars Whiskies green jug made by Arklow, and based on the stamp on the base, it’s from the 1950s/60s. We have another one of these in our collection, but it’s newer, dating from the 1980s/90s.
Adam Millar & Company was a well-known merchant in Dublin, dealing in spirits, wine, and cordials. They also started making blended Irish Whiskey in 1843, which was popular until the 1970s.
In 1987, Cooley Distillery took over the Millar’s brand.
