Bushmills World's Oldest Whiskey

World’s Oldest Whiskey, An Arklow Product, Circa 1970s

The Bushmills World’s Oldest Whiskey jug featured here dates from the 1970s. It’s one of six (not 4 as commonly believed) different versions of this whiskey jug. The diamond-shaped jug bears text on all four sides. On two sides, it showcases the words ‘Old Bushmills Irish Whiskey,’ while on the other two sides, it features the words ‘World’s Oldest Whiskey.’

The peculiar aspect of this jug lies in the stamp on the base. It reads ‘An Arklow Product, Made in England.’ None of the other jugs in our collection were manufactured in England.

The Old Bushmills Distillery, located in Northern Ireland, is one of the oldest licensed distilleries in the world. It dates back to 1608. It’s renowned for its production of Irish whiskey. The distillery has a diverse range of offerings, including single malt, blended, and aged expressions.

Visitors to the Old Bushmills Distillery can explore its historic premises, witness the whiskey-making process, and enjoy tastings of its celebrated spirits.
