The Arklow Pottery Tullamore Dew jug featured here dates from the 1950s/60s. It is a highly sought-after item for Irish Whiskey collectors. Despite not being super rare, they consistently fetch a high price at auctions. We have also listed the rarer version of this jug, which you can view here.
Tullamore Dew is the second-largest-selling Irish whiskey globally, selling over 1,500,000 cases annually as of 2020. Its name comes from the initials of Daniel E. Williams (D.E.W.). He was a former manager and owner. William Grant & Sons bought the brand in 2010. They built a new distillery on the outskirts of Tullamore.
Spanning 58 acres, the distillery handles every step of whiskey-making—from milling to bottling—producing an impressive 11 million litres annually. Their emblem which was selected by Desmond Williams is the Irish wolfhound.
