The Jameson Irish Whiskey jug featured here bears their logo and family crest. Additionally, it also features the text ‘JAMESON, EST’D 1780, SINE METU, IRISH WHISKEY.’
The jug featured here is not commonly found. On the base, this jug has the maker’s mark ‘An Arklow Product, Made in Ireland’. More commonly found versions of this jug have the maker’s mark ‘WADE pmd England’.
Our guess is that Arklow Pottery acquired the mould from Wade England and then re-branded it with their mark.
Jameson is crafted by Irish Distillers, a part of Pernod Ricard. Originally produced at the Jameson Distillery Bow St. in Dublin, it is now made at the New Midleton Distillery in County Cork.
