Bewley's Cup Made by Carrigaline, Circa 1990s/2000s

Bewley’s Mug, Carrigaline, Circa 1990s/2000s

This mug is a slight deviation from the pub jugs we typically display, as we’re featuring a mug rather than an actual jug. What makes this mug particularly interesting and collectable is that it was produced by Carrigaline Pottery for Bewley’s in the 1990s/2000s. These mugs were most likely given away for free when purchasing a large box of their popular teas in the supermarket.

The mug is in Bewley’s signature colours of beige and brown, with the logo and text ‘Bewley’s Est. 1840’ displayed on both sides. This mug is commonly found throughout Ireland, but those with the Carrigaline stamp on the base are much less common.

Bewley’s is an Irish hot beverage company, founded in Dublin in 1840, which operates internationally. Its primary business involves the production of tea and coffee, as well as the operation of cafés.
