Baileys Irish Cream Jug

Baileys Irish Cream, Carrigaline, Circa 1990s/2000s

Presented is a charming Baileys Irish Cream Jug crafted by Carrigaline Pottery specifically for Baileys.

When we first came across this jug, we thought it was crafted sometime between 1974 and 1979, as 1979 was when the original Carrigaline pottery closed. Since then, we have seen some pieces with the ‘Carrigaline Pottery’ label in this fashion from later dates. One such piece was a cup with this label for the 2003 Special Olympics in Ireland. As this piece’s design also appears to be influenced by Stephen Pearce, who worked at Carrigaline in the 1980s and 1990s, we believe this jug was more likely made in the 1990s or early 2000s.

Introduced in 1974, Baileys Irish Cream is a unique liqueur blending cream, cocoa, and Irish whiskey emulsified with vegetable oil. Produced by Diageo in Dublin, Ireland, and Mallusk, Northern Ireland, this iconic beverage has garnered widespread acclaim.

Throughout the years, Baileys Irish Cream has not only delighted on its own but has also found its way into various recipes, including Baileys Coffee, Baileys Cheesecake, and Baileys Christmas Pudding Cream, steadily gaining popularity as a versatile ingredient.
