The Tullamore Dew jug made by Arklow, featured here, dates from the 1950s. It is a highly sought-after item among jug collectors. There are two versions of this jug, and this is the rarer one. See the other jug version here.
There are two main differences between this jug and the less rare version. The first is the text on the front of the jug, which reads ‘Tullamore Dew Liqueur’. The second difference is the Arklow stamp on the base of the jug, which is distinctive and dates it to the 1950s.
Tullamore Dew is the second-largest-selling Irish whiskey globally. Its name comes from the initials of Daniel E. Williams (D.E.W.). He was a former manager and owner. William Grant & Sons bought the brand in 2010.
