This is an interesting VAT 10 Irish Whiskey jug made by Arklow Pottery for P. O’Malley & Co. (Limerick) Ltd., wholesale wine merchants. The jug dates from the 1970s or 1980s. P. O’Malley & Co. bottled Old John Jameson whiskey back then, a pure pot still whiskey aged ten years.
The front of the VAT 10 Irish Whiskey jug features a picture of an Irish Wolfhound with the text ‘A Large Irish’, referring to the Irish Wolfhound being one of the largest dog breeds.
